Department of Electrical Engineering
The Electrical Engineering Department is one of the oldest departments of the institute which was established in the year 1962. The department has well equipped laboratories such as Electrical Machines laboratory, Power Systems Laboratory, Electronics laboratory, Electrical Measurements laboratory, Power Electronics Laboratory, Electrical workshop laboratory to support practical work. The present intake capacity of department is 60. The Department has well qualified faculties, two supporting staff. Students passing out from this department get good placements in different industries and also admitted in top colleges of M.P. for higher studies. Alumni of Electrical Engineering Department are very well placed in all sectors and have reached to the top in the state/ central government organizations and well known private Industries. The department also engaged in Testing and Consultancy work.

Electrical Machine Lab
Provides students with hands-on experience with DC/AC machines and transformers. DC machines and transformers are the essential parts of an industry. This lab provides platform to learn various tests to be conducted in order to analyze the performance of electrical machines.

MG Set-1 (15 kw 220V 1440 rpm DC Compound generator 3phase 440V, 50Hz, 25 HP Slip ring Induction motor), MG Set- (3 kw 220V 1425 rpm DC Compound generator-3phase 440V, 50Hz, 5 HP 142 rpm squirrel cage Induction motor) DC series Motor, Two Alternator Set (3 phase 1500 rpm, 230V Excitation voltage 90V, Excitation current 3AAC/DC- 230V 1500 rpm 20.5Amp, 5HP Dc Shunt motor ,DC Shunt Motor, DC compound motor, Transformer & Auto transformer, Omega Kits for performing different Practical’s, All types of Measuring and Indicating Instrument,Different types of loads etc.
Power System Lab
Power systems laboratory is one on the most developed laboratory of the department. It is equipped with many advanced equipments to make all of important tests on power systems. Lab having various protection equipment, control panel and different types of relays.
Major Equipment: Static under Voltage Relay, Static over current Relay, IDMT over current Relay, Buchholz Relay, MCB Panel, Thermocouple test RIG set, Tutors for performing various practical.
